Voices of our community.
We hired Wala’a and Samiyah for our first-ever Wellness Fair recently and we were so glad we did! They did an excellent, interactive seminar called “Diverse Workplaces: Shared Values & Awareness”. Between their education, their personal stories, the rapport between them, and the many practical take-aways they gave us, they were the perfect pair to share our day with. They were very easy to work with too!
The City of Ottawa’s Diverse Employees Network engaged Rubiks Counselling to deliver a workshop titled “Facilitating Supportive Conversations” to City’s leaders. Counsellors Samiyah Zawawi and Wala’a Farahat guided more than 100 leaders as they reflected on why these conversations matter in acknowledging their staff's different experiences and trying to understand their reality. As well as why safer spaces are valuable for employee inclusivity, productivity, retention, morale and ultimately belonging. The workshop was very well received and we wouldn’t hesitate to collaborate with Rubiks Counselling in the future.
My supervision experience with Samiyah was excellent. She held space in a way that felt welcoming and comfortable, and I felt supported in sharing openly. Her feedback was thoughtful and constructive, and what stood out most were her tailored, creative interventions that felt both unique and highly applicable to clients. She brings an abundance of knowledge, and overall, the experience was deeply valuable and enriching
